When wearing a Rudraksha bead or mala, it’s important to keep it close to your skin to fully experience its benefits. Following the RRCT guidelines for wearing Rudraksha is essential to harness its maximum spiritual and healing properties.

Avoid sharing your Rudraksha beads, even with family members. If you wish to gift your Rudraksha, it’s best to refrain from wearing it for at least two weeks, re-energize it, and then gift it for a fresh and positive experience.

In dry climates, Rudraksha beads may crack. To maintain their condition, apply a natural, unscented oil (like olive oil) with a soft toothbrush periodically. Never soak or wash them in hot water, as this could damage the seed and cause cracks.

For optimal results, wear your Rudraksha bead 24/7, even while sleeping. It can be worn while bathing but should be rinsed with water afterward. If continuous wear is not possible, it is recommended to wear it consistently for at least two weeks initially, and thereafter for at least 10 hours daily.

If there is any dirt or fungal growth in the grooves, soak your Rudraksha in lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap for 6-7 hours. Gently scrub it with a plastic brush, dry it in the shade, and apply a light coat of oil once it’s dry.

If your Rudraksha has been removed for more than two weeks, it’s advisable to re-energize it by chanting “Om Namah Shivaya” 3, 9, 11, 21, 51, or 108 times before wearing it again. It will resonate with your energy within two weeks.

Contrary to some internet advice, avoid soaking Rudraksha beads in ghee or milk, as this may attract bacteria or pests. Instead, visit a Shiva temple for consecration or wear them directly, as they will naturally attune to your body’s energy.

Always store your beads in a dry place when not wearing them. If mold appears or insects infest the beads, rinse them in lukewarm water, dry them in the shade or with a hairdryer, and place them in the freezer for two days.

Surface-level cracks do not affect the effectiveness of a Rudraksha, as they often fill naturally due to changes in weather. However, if the internal compartments are damaged, it is advisable to replace the bead. With proper care, Rudraksha beads can last for generations.

Elaborate pujas are not required to energize a Rudraksha; simply chanting Beeja or Shiva mantras helps attune the bead to your energy.

At GemForSoul, each Rudraksha bead is energized before shipping. However, they fully activate and harmonize with your body’s energy upon contact. Wearing the beads as per RRCT guidelines and consistently for 24/7 wear enables Nepali beads to align within 3-5 days and Java beads within 10-14 days, bringing harmony and balance to your body and mind.

While wearing Rudraksha, consuming non-vegetarian food or alcohol does not cause negative effects. However, adopting a Sattvic lifestyle may amplify the benefits. Many wearers find that Rudraksha helps reduce habits like smoking and drinking.

You may also wear Rudraksha beads during intimate moments or sexual activity. It is optional to remove them for such occasions.

If you accidentally step on, drop, or break a Rudraksha, no harm will come from it. Damaged beads can be respectfully buried or immersed in a natural water body.

Rudraksha beads can be worn by people of all religions.
